The Berkeley Hotel, Court Yard Rooms

About This Project

Following completion of their work on The Berkeley Hotel’s Grand Pavilion Suite, McCue Crafted Fit was once again contracted to create bespoke joinery for the luxury hotel’s Courtyard Rooms in June 2019.

A total of 22 Courtyard Rooms, designed by designer Michelle Wu and created by McCue, were transformed over a five-week period to craft a tranquil, luxurious place for guests.

McCue’s specialist team created a number of custom-made products that were manufactured and assembled at the company’s 60,000sq. ft. workshop in Carrickfergus.  This process, as well as rigorous quality control checks being completed in-house, ensured faster delivery times and on-site installation.

The bespoke cabinetry, including wardrobes, television units, mini bars, writing desks, luggage units and head boards, were created using sun silk figured sycamore, providing a fresh, contemporary ambience within each room.

Antique bronze metal was installed around the door and mirror frames, whilst wall-papered panels were inserted into the door frames. Leather bases and low iron glass dress the internal elements of the drawer units.

With luxury comes detail, and this detail is evident in the feature headboards that were created by McCue using curly maple and sun silk sycamore. The upper sections were created using rough sawn oak, white washed and highlighted with a recessed LED uplighter.

Throughout the project, McCue’s team worked closely with the designer and client team to install the stunning bespoke joinery, which was recognised through the client’s positive feedback..

This was a true collaboration between designer and McCue’s team.
