McCue are Delivering Fit-Out of The Meridian, a New Cocktail-Led Venue at Armagh City Hotel
Work is underway on The Meridian, a new cocktail-led hospitality concept by McKeever Hotels at Armagh City Hotel, and McCue is proud to be delivering the fit-out.
The development is the latest phase of a wider £4 million investment programme at the hotel, and will bring a distinctive new venue to the heart of Armagh — a space where locals, visitors and hotel guests can come together to enjoy exceptional hospitality, expertly crafted drinks and a new place to meet in the city.
A concept rooted in Armagh's heritage
The Meridian takes its inspiration from Armagh's internationally recognised heritage in astronomy, timekeeping and navigation — a story woven through the design by Andrew O'Doherty, Architect and Experiential Designer at Drinksology Kirker Greer, the Belfast-based brand and experience specialists behind the world-renowned Dead Rabbit in New York.
The venue will feature The Constellation Room, a dedicated space for premium spirit and wine tastings, alongside a private dining area and a strong focus on showcasing local brands. It is a concept with genuine ambition, and one that reflects the confidence McKeever Hotels continues to show in Armagh.
Our role: turning design into delivery
Cocktail-led venues are among the most demanding fit-outs in hospitality. Behind the finished experience sits bespoke joinery, specialist lighting, and back-of-bar services that have to work as hard as everything front of house — and in this case, all of it must be delivered within a live, trading hotel environment.
That is where McCue comes in. Our role is to take a design of this ambition and build it to a standard that matches, which means careful programming to protect the hotel's day-to-day operations, close coordination with the client and design teams, and the standard of craftsmanship that projects like this demand.

We are delighted to be working alongside an exceptional project team, including McKeever Hotels as client and Drinksology Kirker Greer as designers, to bring this vision to life. Collaboration between design and delivery is what separates good venues from great ones, and this project has that foundation from day one.
Opening later this year
The Meridian is due to open later this year, and we will be sharing progress from site as the programme moves forward — including a closer look at the craftsmanship going into the build.
