Apprentice Joiner

Overview

  • Main Purpose of the Role:   To work closely with and under the daily supervision of both the designated mentor and Team Leader within the workshop.

  • Location: Carrickfergus.

  • Salary: In line with National Minimum Wage requirements (increasing annually).

  • Responsible To: Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • To attend college and obtain NVQ Level 3 in Joinery.

  • To work with and provide support to joinery and other related trades people.

  • Produce quality finishes to joinery items, as per client specifications.

  • Adhere to all relevant Health & Safety requirements specified by the Company.

  •  Maintain a high standard of housekeeping by ensuring that all areas of the workshop are kept clean and tidy at all times.

  • When required, work on a variety of sites throughout Ireland and the UK Mainland once CSR cards are obtained.

  • To participate and support all Company initiatives with compliance of procedures and requirements for ISO9001, 14001 & 45001, FSC and Investors in People Standards.

  • Any other duties required for the effective post operation as deemed by Management.

Qualifications

  • You will need to apply for the relevant carpentry and joinery course at a local college.

  • Placement is subject to obtaining the required exam grades and gaining entry to a local college.

  • Good time management.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills.

Other

  • Willingness to travel to sites in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
